The design of this house is guided by the grid, drawn from Asian design principles of balance, order, proportion and calm. This geometric framework is the foundation for the joinery and architectural detailing throughout the home, setting a consistent rhythm and a sense of cohesion from room to room.
Warm natural timber, refined joinery and layered textures come together to create a feeling of quiet luxury. The grid appears in framed shelving and carefully proportioned panels that are both functional and sculptural, offering places for display, storage and visual depth.
As the design developed, we looked more closely at how each space is used, integrating storage and defining where it belongs. This gives the joinery greater meaning. Panels shift between solid, open and semi transparent, enriching both how the rooms look and how they work.
Softening the order of the grid, the circle appears in every space in some form. It becomes a unifying symbol, bringing the home together as one.
